Ithaca’s Literacy Night was held on Monday, April 10. Families were invited to a free meal of spaghetti with garlic bread and salad provided by the Ithaca PTSO. Storyteller, Kay Elmsley Weeden entertained both the students and adults with her interactive multilingual stories. Families had the opportunity to create and share their own stories. The evening concluded with each child receiving a book and a cookie. Chay Schmitt and Andrea Newkirk would like to thank Jill Plonka for preparing and serving the food, Kara and Hallie Steinmetz for assisting with set up and clean up, Emily Zorea for allowing us to use the library, and the administration and custodial staff.
