Congratulations to 4th grader Hudson Huebsch, and 5th graders Cameron Brown and Rylan Hash. They recently earned the privilege of wearing a hat during school for a day after reaching their I-Ready reading lesson goals! Cameron and Rylan were the first in their class to reach their goal. I-Ready is an adaptive online assessment in math and reading that provides teachers with areas of strength and areas of growth for each student. Once students have completed the assessment, students are provided their own online path of lessons to complete based on the results of the assessment. Teachers have set lesson goals with their students.

Our company uses current trends to prognosticate what the workplace of the future will be like. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On February 19, 1847, the first rescuers reach surviving members of the Donner Party, a group of California-bound emigrants stranded by snow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. In the summer of 1846, in the midst of a Western-bound fever sweeping the United States, 89 people—including 31 members of the Donner and Reed families—set out in a wagon train from Springfield, Illinois. After arriving at Fort Bridger, Wyoming, the emigrants decided to avoid the usual route and try a new trail recently blazed. The shortcut was nothing of the sort: It set the Donner Party back nearly three weeks and cost them much-needed supplies. On October 28 they camped at Truckee Lake, located in the high mountains 21 kilometers northwest of Lake Tahoe. Overnight, an early winter storm blanketed the ground with snow, blocking the mountain pass and trapping the Donner Party. BIRTHDAYS: none

The students had some great questions and loved the sweet noises Paisley was making. This is another great example of learning made fun at Ithaca!

February is CTE (Career Technical Education) Month! What is CTE? Career Technical Education provides an important pathway to success for high school students and offers each student opportunities to personalize his or her education based on their career interests and unique learning needs. CTE also provides students with not only career and academic skills, but soft skills that are needed for the modern workplace. Let us start celebrating CTE month by recognizing the people who make the CTE department possible in our school! Thank you- Ms. Sprecher, Mr. Nee, Mrs. Burnley, Mrs. Kershner, Mrs. Deitelhoff and Ms. Bevan for preparing our students for their next step after high school. We appreciate the work you do everyday to make sure all students are career ready!
