Help Ithaca guide our students by becoming a substitute teacher! The need for quality substitute teachers is great, and you could be just the right fit for our students and district. To be a teaching substitute, substitute training certification is required and is offered at CESA 3 in Fennimore on December 6, 2023. Use the link below to register. Our teachers leave excellent sub plans; classrooms are supported by other professionals during the day. Please join the team! Contact Ms Kathleen Schoen by calling 608-585-2311 or emailing to schokat@ithaca.k12.wi.us

GREAT things are happening in Ms. Durkin’s art classes! Today we feature 3rd grade birch tree forests with watercolors. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-wJXNhJ2hM

Third graders had a lot of fun this week doing Thanksgiving related activities. On Tuesday, they did wheels of thankfulness, a turkey craft, and followed all that up with creating pumpkin catapults! With a partner they were given five minutes to plan and 15 minutes to construct their catapults. They only had 5 popsicle sticks, 5 rubber bands, plastic spoon, and tape for their materials! It was so much fun to see them all critically think about how to make their pumpkin launch the furthest! Wednesday revolved around the book called “Balloons Over Broadway”. They first had to collaborate with their teammates to come up with a balloon design, then sketch out that design before constructing it! Once constructed, they were attached to a BeeBot and they had to code their balloon through a mapped out parade route. Lots of learning, fun, and laughter had this week in 3rd grade!

Much to be thankful for! In a building where 4K through 12th grade students learn, there are many opportunities to learn together! This week, the first graders enjoyed a Thanksgiving Spanish lesson from the high school Spanish class. They enjoyed a Spanish read aloud, bingo, and a color by number.
