Members of the Ithaca FFA made 64 meals for local farmers last week. Members made sandwiches, packed potato salad and pasta salad and pickles along with homemade desserts. Thank you to Kaul Park for donating soda and water. Members of the FFA drove to local farms and personally delivered the meals to the farmers busy with the fall harvest. This is the first year the members delivered meals. They plan on delivering more meals next year and years to come!

The Wisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) recently donated turkeys and hams to the Ithaca School District! WECA donated coupons for 13 hams. If the school bought 1 ham with a coupon, they received 1 turkey for free, which means Ithaca has 26 items that will be randomly given out to Ithaca families to make holiday meals a little brighter. The School District will be contacting selected families soon. Ithaca would like to thank WECA, Brooke Hackl for her trip to Madison retrieving the hams and birds, and a special thanks to Hy-Vee for being so accommodating during the lengthy transactions required to make this all come together.

Ithaca's 8th Grade Scientists present: The Pizza Box Periodic Table! After learning about how the Periodic Table of the Elements was organized, each 8th grade student designed and created 2 (or more) boxes for elements of the periodic table. They researched the discovery and use of their element, including photos and a Bohr model of what each atom of their element looks like. The boxes were then arranged with the other elements to create an interactive periodic table for all Ithaca students to learn from! Included in the full display are labels for metals, metalloids, and nonmetals, directional arrows for how the elements have been arranged onto the table, and expandable lanthanide and actinide series.
