Youth football will meet again Thur, Sept 19th, and meet every Monday and Thursday for 4 weeks on the football field at 6:00. Practice will finish at 7:00. No sign up is required. The final practice will be October 11th 6-7pm.

Our first Popcorn Friday will be this Friday, September 20. Elementary students, your classroom teacher will take your order and money. Middle School and High School students you will be able to purchase yours during breakfast, at the end of your hallways. Cost is $0.50 per bag, limit 2 bags per person. Help support the 2nd grade class!

Parents of students in grades Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd: the Ithaca Happy Hour 4-H Club is starting a Cloverbud after school Club. The first meeting will be after school on September 25 until 5 PM. Wear some clothes you can get dirty and come and have some fun and check out 4-H!

Ithaca students and staff benefit greatly from the kindness of community donations for school supplies each year. Steve and Deb Dickey have continued the several year tradition, providing our students with an abundance of school supplies started by Evelyn Kolman, a 1942 graduate of Ithaca. We at Ithaca thank you for the continued support of our students.

The Ithaca Happy Hour 4H Club is organizing a Cloverbud After-School Club at Ithaca. The first meeting will begin at 3:30pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. From 3:30 (children picked up by Mrs. Jill Plonka at 3:15pm) until 5:00 pm. Coming home with your child, and attached to this email, is a flyer with more information and contact information. You can contact Jill Plonka at japlonka@hotmail.com for more information. Children are encouraged to wear clothes that can get dirty and to come and have some fun!!
4H is a great experience for all and it begins with the Cloverbud Project!!


Are you exploring options for your soon-to-be driver? A new program called Driver Education Grant Program through the State of Wisconsin could have an opportunity for your family! Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch may apply below to have their classroom and behind-the-wheel driver training for a Class D (Regular) driver license paid for through the Driver Education Grant Program. Students with grants can enroll in any driver education program offered by an authorized driver education provider. The tuition will be paid directly to the Driver Training school.

Wisconsin Day of Observance: Wisconsin Day, Sep 18, 2024 Commemorates the assets that make Wisconsin a desirable place to live and work. Falls on the Wednesday of the third week of September, as part of Wonderful Wisconsin Week.
Today, Wednesday, Sept 18, students will be released at 2:00 PM. Elementary pickup will begin at 1:45 PM. This is a planned day for professional development for faculty and staff.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY:
On September 18, 1793, George Washington laid the cornerstone to the United States Capitol building, the home of the legislative branch of American government. The building would take nearly a century to complete, as architects came and went, the British set fire to it and it was called into use during the Civil War. Today, the Capitol building, with its famous cast-iron dome and important collection of American art, is part of the Capitol Complex, which includes six Congressional office buildings and three Library of Congress buildings, all developed in the 19th and 20th centuries.

This is a reminder from the Ithaca School district. Wednesday, September 18th will be an early release, with elementary being released at 1:45 PM and the middle and high school at 2 PM. Please be advised, with the continued shortage of bus drivers, the delivery time of your student WILL be later than normal tomorrow. As always, if you intend to deviate from your student’s current transportation plan, please call the office at 608-585-2311. Remember, all changes to transportation needs must be called into the Ithaca office no later than 11 AM on the day of the change. Thank you


September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Adults need to take care of their mental health also. Did you know the incidence of suicide in agriculture is among the highest of all industries? The Farmer Angel Network, a non-profit founded in Sauk County by friends and family in memory of their loved one, has made mental health a priority and a beacon of hope in the farming industry. If any of these fit you, consider volunteering for the PTSO. The Ithaca School District will be holding community informational meetings concerning the upcoming referendum. If you missed yesterday's meeting in Keyesville, catch one or more of the next meetings. Upcoming sessions will be held Thursday night, September 19, at 7:00 at the Loyd Community Center; Monday night, September 23, at 7:00 at Ithaca Schools; Wednesday, October 2, at 5:45 at the Ithaca Community Gym; and Sunday morning, October 6, at 11:30 at the Willow Valley Church Hall.

Everyone loves a parade! All area businesses, candidates, organizations, families, and classes are invited to enter in the Ithaca School Fair and Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 12. Line up is at 10 AM and the parade starts at 10:30. Welcome to the Jungle is our theme this year!

Wisconsin Day of Observance: Mildred Fish Harnack Day Commemorates the only native-born American known to have been executed by the Gestapo in Nazi Germany. Mildred Fish Harnack was born in Milwaukee in 1902.
