There were a lot of purrs! The girls placed 4th as a team. Highlights for the girls included Kaylee Miller 1st in the high jump, Kaylee Peterson 1st in the 800 and 6th in the 200, Tristen Peterson placed 1st in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles with a new PR and 2nd in the long jump, Martina Olson placed 7th in the 1600 with a new PR, Aubri Koch placed 8th in the 400 and 6th in the triple jump, Reese Ghastin placed 11th in the discus with a new PR, and Alivia Koch placed 11th in the 200 with a new PR. The 4X200m relay of Kaylee Miller, Maggie Kershner, Abby Weidenfeld, and Emma Coy placed 3rd, and the 4X400 of Tristen Peterson, Emma Coy, Kaylee Miller, and Kaylee Peterson placed 2nd. Highlights for the boys were Clayton Lee 7th in the 1600 with a new PR, Landon Thompson 7th in the 400, Keegan Jones and Landon Thompson narrowly missing scoring places in the 200 both with new PRs, Connor Montes with a new PR in the discus, and a dynamic race in the boys 4X400 of Keegan Jones, Tyler Steinmetz, Clayton Lee, and Landon Thompson for 4th place. Richland Hospital provides an informative Healthcare meeting for our students. Yesterday a group of high school students attended a Healthcare Career Exploration Day at the Richland Hospital. Students learned about careers that are needed to support the healthcare industry- Nursing, Lab, Medical Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, Rehab Services, Radiology & Human Resources were a few of the areas we focused on. Students were able to hear some great testimonies from hospital staff about how they have gotten to where they are today. They were educated in a wide variety of careers in the Healthcare field. Thank you to the Richland Hospital for your hospitality and education. School safety is a priority at Ithaca. On Tuesday, May 2, the Ithaca School district in conjunction with law enforcement will be having mock drills. Students will be informed prior to the drills, but we encourage you to also speak with your child about this safety day. FFA will be holding our annual greenhouse sale on Sat. May 6, May 13 and May from 9 to 1 pm and Sunday May 7 from noon to 3 pm. We have hundreds of hanging baskets and deck pots, bedding flowers and vegetables. Don't miss out on the beautiful selection. After the 20th, we will be closing the greenhouse for the season and the leftover plants will be going to the Fennimore auction. Bravo! Brava! Congratulations to the Ithaca High School Forensics team. They competed at the 2023 Wisconsin State Forensics Contest on Friday night. Of the 16 entries and 22 performers, Ithaca students earned 11 Gold Medals with a perfect score, 7 Silver Medals with scores of 24, and 4 Bronze Medals with scores of 22 and 21. Gold Medal winners were seniors Brooklyn Freestone, Alana Nelson, Elise Newkirk, Kyla Pluemer, Talena Sprecher, and Erica Steinmetz, junior Josie Laue, sophomores Allison Durst, Maggie Gschwind, and Holly King, and freshman Izzie Ortiz. A special congratulations goes to Alana Nelson for achieving the coveted Gold Medallion for earning perfect scores in each of her state performances. Again, Congratulations to you all!

In recognition of National Teach Children to Save Day, a very special guest visited the second graders. The Money Bunny and his assistants from the Richland County Bank, came to discuss the importance of saving. They read a book to the second graders that highlighted this important lesson.
