Through the incredible generosity of our community as a result of the Ithaca Lions and their Stuff the Bus campaign, as well as donations from former administrator, Mr Bob Bowers and the late Evelyn Kolman who yearly made large donations of school supplies each year (this has continued through Steve and Deb Dickey in her memory), we have school supplies to offer our students in need. All donors recognize the need educators have in their classrooms, and that teachers often will purchase these items out of their own pocket, so teachers are welcome to utilize these materials in their classrooms, as well. Thank you to all who make these donations possible! #WhereTheresANeedTheresALion #LearnersTodayLeadersTomorrow

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM NURSE WILSON - PLEASE READ ASAP!

The Ithaca Community lost a great supporter Wednesday August 23, 2023. Francis “Sonny” Huebsch, age 87, of Ithaca, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Pine Valley Community Village following a short bout with Bile Duct Cancer. Sonny was an avid truck hauler for 50-plus years, which he enjoyed and met many people during that time. Sonny was a HUGE supporter of the greater Ithaca Community. He supported the Ithaca School fair in so many ways, including hauling for, bidding during, and helping with the annual animal sale during the school fair. You would then find Sonny with a horse or two pulling a wagon in the Ithaca fair parade, usually with a kid or grand kid (or several) riding along and throwing some of the BEST candy to young parade goers! Sonny supported, played for, and coached MANY softball teams through the years under the support of SONNY’s TRUCKING TEAM. Sonny and Jan’s children and grandchildren attended the Ithaca School district throughout the years. This summer Sonny, a HUGE Brewer and Packer fan, attended what would be his final Brewer game with his family and friends, including his great granddaughter Ila, who was attending her very first game.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Keyesville, with Fr. Nathan Thainase officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Keyesville. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center. Friends may also call on Thursday at church from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM where a Rosary will also be held at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family. Casual attire is preferred.

Jerry was a farmer, husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, devoted parish member at St Marys in Keyesville, musician, friend, reliable community member, but most of all Jerry was an outstanding human being! It was stated by a member of the parish, Amy Lins, that “None of us have ever known a St Mary’s Keyesville without him.” It can truly be said that “None of us have ever known Ithaca Schools or our community without him.”
We would like to share a few pictures of Jerry through the years, to help celebrate a lifelong resident in our district that impacted the lives of SEVERAL generations. Jerry will be missed by the entire Richland County Community, including the Ithaca School District.
