The Richland Center/Ithaca Cross Country teams had a great night at Conference. The Boys Team earned 2nd place, better than they’ve done in decades! The Girls Team finished 4th, narrowly missing 3rd place. Kaylee Peterson earned 1st Team All Conference honors, and Clayton Lee earned 2nd Team All Conference honors. Great job Bulldogs!

Youth football for 3rd-5th graders has begun, but there’s still time to participate! Meet at the football field for practice from 6pm-7pm. A generous football fan will throw a pizza party for the players in the grade that has the highest percentage of participation for all 6 practices. These practices are meant to be a fun way to explore and grow in football. Bring a friend! Practices are 10/16, 10/19, 10/23, and 10/26 from 6pm until 7pm on the HS football field. The Ithaca School Fair Horse show will be held Sun, Oct 15 starting at 10:30 AM at the Anderson Family Quarter Horse Farm at 27727 County Road BA towards Sextonville. You do not have to enter on FairEntry to participate in the Horse Show, just show up that morning. The show bill can be found online.

Just a friendly reminder to the juniors and seniors who will be going on the Wisconsin Education Fair and Meister Cheese Field Trip on Monday, October 16th: Please follow the trip guidelines that were shared with you in English class on Thursday. If you were absent, please stop by our office to see what you missed so you know what to expect for the trip. You will be meeting Mrs. Kershner in the commons at 8:10 a.m. on Monday.

There is currently a Brewhaha Roasters coffee fundraiser going on right now until October 20th. Find your favorite band or choir student to get your locally roasted whole bean or ground coffee. Funds raised support spring band and choir trips directly to that student! Money will be collected at the time of ordering, and delivery will be in time for Christmas gifts! Return forms and money to Mrs Thompson.

The PTSO will hold their annual Trunk-or-Treat on October 20. Trunk decorating will be from 4:30-5 pm and trunk-or-treating will be from 5-6 pm. This will be held in the North parking lot of the high school. If any trunk decorator needs candy to be provided, please reach out to Samantha Hilby at hilbsam@ithaca.k12.wi.us.

Starting Monday October 16th there will be a change put into place that affects HOW you check out a loaner Chromebook from the technology department. Students MUST present their school issued ID (either your temporary or picture ID will suffice). Our newly created software requires an ID to be scanned into the system before a device will be issued. Please contact Mr. Hess with any questions concerning this new process.

Ithaca will be hosting their annual Influenza (Flu) Vaccine Clinic Thursday, October 19, 2023. The Richland County Nurse will be administering Flu Vaccines to students that have a signed parent permission form. Permission forms for Vaccine administration, will need to be returned by Thursday, October 12, 2023. Thank you for your cooperation.

Calling all cross country fans! An update on the SWC Conference meet! The meet at Dodgeville has been moved to tomorrow, Wednesday, October 11th. The boys will begin at 3:40pm, and the girls will start at 4:20pm. Awards will be presented at 5:00pm. Catch our Richland Center/Ithaca runners as they wrap up their regular season competition.

ATTACK Release Privileges will begin Tue, Oct 10 for high school students who satisfy the conditions below as of grade check no. 1 (which ended on Fri, Sep 29). The following conditions apply:
The student must have an executed PARENT/GUARDIAN PERMISSION FORM on file in the School Office. [Forms are available in the School Office.]
The student must not have any grade lower than a C-, as verified by a Skyward grade report.
The student cannot have any missing assignments, as verified by teachers.
A student taking courses through Acellus, an accredited online school used for credit recovery, must be at or beyond their lesson benchmarks, as verified by the school counselor.

This Day in History: The United States Naval Academy opens in Annapolis, Maryland, with 50 midshipmen students and seven professors. Known as the Naval School until 1850, the curriculum included mathematics and navigation, gunnery and steam, chemistry, English, natural philosophy, and French. The Naval School officially became the U.S. Naval Academy in 1850, and a new curriculum went into effect, requiring midshipmen to study at the academy for four years and to train aboard ships each summer—the basic format that remains at the academy to this day.

The Ithaca Music Boosters wishes to thank our families, community, and alumni for supporting their breakfast and lunch meals on Saturday during the 101st School Fair and Homecoming. Thanks to the dedication of our music families and the generosity of our community and alumni, the meals were a tremendous success. The funds raised at these meals help offset costs for spring band and choir trips as well as classroom needs for our music instructors, band and choir directors. If you are interested in becoming an active member of the Ithaca Music Boosters, "like" the Ithaca Band or Ithaca Choirs Facebook pages or catch updates in the daily announcements as meetings are listed there.
Join in the fun with the Ithaca PTSO! Their annual Trunk or Treat will be on Friday, October 20th in the Ithaca High School north parking lot from 5pm until 6pm (set up starting at 4:30). All Ithaca families and friends are invited to this enjoyable event.
Saturday was a successful day also for our Richland Center/Ithaca Cross Country teams. RC/I Boys Cross Country team took 1st place at the Riverdale Invitational held in Muscoda, and the girls team placed 7th overall. In individual results, Ithaca sophomore, Clayton Lee, finished 5th in the boys race, and senior, Kaylee Peterson, finished 3rd. Both teams are enjoying many successes this season. They will travel to Dodgeville to compete in the SWC Conference Meet Wednesday, October 11th, with the boys starting at 3:40pm and girls at 4:20pm. Awards presented at 5:00pm.
Congratulations to Mary Lins, recipient of the Ithaca Community Service Hall of Fame award!
A special treat for the National Anthem! Our very own, Ben Huebsch will sing the Star Spangled Banner before our homecoming football game against Iowa-Grant.
