Since our Throwback Thursday originator, Adam Hess, was on assignment yesterday we will take a pictorial journey today. We travel back to 1969 and reminisce about Ithaca Schools very own newspaper, The Purple Quill. Do you remember this publication?

Youth basketball players! Summer youth basketball camp will be held on June 27 and 28 (Thursday and Friday). This is a coed camp for youth entering 3rd through 8th grade. Attached is the registration form. Any questions may be referred to Monica Kershner.

What a day of fun, excitement, and celebration we had last Thursday! Mrs. Schoen was able to wrangle and kiss a pig to celebrate the 1st graders reading over 4,000 books among the two classes. Our drumline serenaded the 1st graders then led the Seniors and state track stars as they paraded through the halls into the playground amidst the applause of the students and community members present. We finished off as the parade of drummers and seniors entered the gym to recognize baseball, softball, and track, as well as our very own Mrs. Clary. She was selected as this year's recipient of the Dr. Ken Solis Excellence in Teaching Award. Whew! What a great day!

We have heard students stating they will not be attending school tomorrow. It is the expectation of the administration and staff that students are present, even on the last day of school. The last day of school is utilized to make up missed testing, catch up on other missing coursework, and CELEBRATE all the gains our students have achieved. If your student will not be present at school tomorrow or any day, parents or guardians should call the school office to notify us of that absence.

Reminder Middle School families! As you may have heard or seen on the school calendar, the Middle School Awards program will be the last day of school on Thursday, June 6th at 1:30pm in the high school gym.
