The Richland Center High School SADD Club sponsored the 2019 Mock Crash on May 22nd. With the efforts of high school students, as well as the support of our local emergency response crews, the day was a huge success.

The high school student council continued their How to Survive High School 101 with the 8th graders today. The members of the student council shared information on clubs and sports the first day. Today 8th graders heard student council members give advice from their experiences.
The Boxtops Program is changing! First, still keep cutting out those Box Tops for Education - as long as you see them, and they aren't expired, clip and send to school! The new Boxtops For Education app can be downloaded for free from Google Play or iTunes stores. This summer they are also giving a bunch of bonus boxtops just for using the app, so we could potentially earn lots of extra money. Scan your receipt and get bonus box tops for our school! The phrase "student-athlete" is taken very seriously at Ithaca. Our athletes are students first! This balance is especially challenging at the collegiate level. A large Bulldog congratulations goes to Jacob Huebsch for being named to the 2019 NSIC Spring All-Academic Team. Jacob is the son of Mick and Carly Huebsch and on the baseball team at Winona State University in Minnesota.

Next Monday will begin our Summer Library Check out. If your student hasn't turned in a permission form, it's not too late. Print, fill out, sign, and send it to school! As long as the student doesn't have any outstanding books checked out, they can pick up to 12 books to take home for the summer and return during Open House or the first day of school. 8th grade families - please make note of the change for the 8th grade trip to Devil's Lake! The trip will now occur on Friday, May 31st in the hopes that the weather will be more cooperative. Please make this change on your calendars.

The Ithaca School board has been recognizing staff for their contributions to Ithaca. Congratulations to the choir students competing at the make-up State Solo Ensemble Festival yesterday. Students earned seven 1st scores and four 2nd scores. Excellent work this year!
Congratulations to the High School Band! They have been selected by Disney Performing Arts to be part of the entertainment at Walt Disney World Resort on March 24th. The band submitted a recording as part of their application to audition for the chance to perform there. This will be the 7th time that the band has been selected to perform. Congratulations, Mrs. Behrens, and thank you for continuing our tradition of a strong music department at our district!
There will be a popcorn sale this Friday, May 24. Cost is 50 cents per bag limit 2 bags per student please. Proceeds this week go to the Kindergarten class. High school, we will come around at Attack time.

Lots going on tomorrow!! Grades 3-5 celebrate their reading successes and the 6th grade has a class trip. Cheer on our varsity athletes compete at the track sectional in Bangor, softball regional championships in Highland, and baseball regional playoff here at home.
The girls playoff softball game today in Ithaca has a time change. The game will now start at 4:00 PM.
