ATTENTION ALL COACHES! If you are not a Spring Coach you need to return all your keys and fobs to the district office no later than Friday, March 18, 2022. We are changing the lock system for the lower gym to key fob only soon. Your keys will no longer work. (fobs will need to be activated) Please return your keys and current fob in an envelope with your name on it to the District office or Athletic Director. Thank you!

The Ithaca Lions Club is hosting an upcoming pancake breakfast benefit for Ben Huebsch this Sunday, March 13th. Ben is a freshman at Ithaca High School and is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Please consider attending to support a local family. The world-famous breakfast will begin at 7am and run until 1pm in the Ithaca High School Commons. There will also be a bake sale and silent auction baked goodies!

Ithaca's Youth 4 Change (Y4C) student leaders Erica Steinmetz, Elise Newkirk, and Alana Nelson recorded this short, informative video on just some ingredients found in vapes. This is being shared around the group's social media accounts (if you're on Tik Tok and Instagram, follow them: ithaca_y4c ). These girls, as well as all of the other Y4C members are really working hard to encourage positive and healthy living choices amongst their peers not only at Ithaca, but throughout the entire community. We feel we could at least give up our smartphones for a day. We believe that when we are in sync for the same purpose, good things happen! So, on Wednesday March 9th 2022 we are challenging our student body to join together by putting our phones away for 1 day and devoting our hearts and minds to uplift Ben! If you would like to participate in the challenge- the sign up sheet is outside the guidance office! Let's do this together! Thank you! 1 day...1 challenge...1 purpose! FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) has a ‘student challenge’ for anyone who would like to participate. WHEN? Wednesday March 9th, 2022 WHAT? FCA has a ‘fasting’ challenge for any student who would like to participate. When people usually hear the word ‘fasting’ they think it means to reduce or eliminate food. But there are other ways to fast…Electronic fasting can be seen as abstaining from our electronic devices (smartphones and social media) …And that’s the way we would like to fast. WHY? The reason some people fast is to make time for things that matter more. We are challenging our student body to ‘fast’ for Ben. Ben has had many things either put on hold or taken from him this school year: company of friends, sports, attending school and so much more! We feel that giving up our electronic devices for one day is just a glimpse of what Ben has had to give up this year. So by doing this…you would give up your smartphone and social media for just one whole school day! The time we usually spend on our phones would be spent either praying or sending good vibes Ben’s way. Our focus would be Ben. We believe that when we are in sync for the same purpose good things happen! HOW? You can either leave your phone at home, in your car or give it to Mrs. Kershner for the day. (She promises to keep it in a safe place) For every student who is up for the challenge there will be a sign up sheet outside the guidance office. Ben Huebsch's classmates helped bolster his strength as he starts Phase 3! Yesterday, Ben's classmates trekked up the hill to Keyesville Ridge for another brief visit. Ben values these visits so much, and seeing his classmates helps renew his focus and send him off with positivity and strength. The class wishes to thank our administrative team for supporting these trips, Bill Kloehn and the transportation crew for getting us there, Annette Louis and her fabulous kitchen staff for their flexibility, and all the staff for making this happen for Ben. "United" continued.... As we all know, the last few years have been nothing but "uncertain", "unprecedented", and "unbelievable". It can be hard to catch your breath when every moment you are "living through history". But what happens when we face those "un"s with unity? Middle School Reading classes have started exploring the medium of poetry and are taking on the task of writing their own poems. Starting with a whole-class project, I wanted our focus to be on unity and togetherness. The 8A class RAN with this assignment. Through their own uncertainty about writing poems, they embraced the idea, supported each other, and worked together to create a beautiful piece that speaks to their hearts, and current world affairs. "United" by Mason Bailey, Jadyn Boland, Owen Feryance, Hewsten Garcia-Boland, Jonathon Hash, Xander Hilby, Keegan Jones, Anna Logue, Hunter Moe, Anthony Prouty, Tyler Steinmetz, Brooklyn Dickey, and Channing Wheaton Together is unity. Unity is the immunity from division within our community. This is the transition - To grow as one is the mission. This is the vision We seek for the future. United we stand, Divided we fall. Unity stands, unity flies - Together we rise, Apart we tremble. In unity we are unbeatable, Apart we are defeatable. Our unity is foreseeable. In the past we had many wars and won. What we had in the past had to be remade, But it has all just begun. We must use our voices, Make good choices. We will stand there with pride as we watch the sun rise. When we are alone we are weaker, Together we have power. Our unity is strongest at our darkest hours.

In October, Curtis Mani entered the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation's, Fire Safety Student Poster Contest. Out of 411 second graders who entered, Curtis placed 3rd. His poster was professionally matted and framed, and he was awarded a cash prize of $25. Curtis and his class were able to watch the poster award ceremony virtually on February 23. Congratulations, Curtis! We are Bulldog proud of you!
