From Mrs. Burnley: Share the warmth! The High School FBLA will be having a winter-gear-and-new-sock drive November 14th through 18th. New or gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens, along with new socks will be collected in room 318. Used winter gear should be laundered and wearable without holes and stains. All seniors need to submit a Senior Portrait, a Personal Quote, and a Baby Picture for the Ithaca High School Yearbook. The pictures can be submitted to Mrs. Burnley either by email or a printed picture can be brought to her classroom. To submit your Senior Quote, complete the survey that was emailed to you by Mrs. Burnley on Oct. 21. All senior quotes will be approved by Mr. Herbst. The senior portrait, baby picture, and quote are due before Thanksgiving (November 23). From Mrs. Thompson: Forensics season is rapidly approaching! Join us for an informational meeting on Monday, November 21st in the LMC during ATTACK time. We'll give an overview of what forensics is for those new to forensics and get the ball rolling to officially kick off the season following the Thanksgiving break. Talk to Ms. Schmitt, Mrs. Thompson, or Mrs. Zorea if you have any questions. From Archery Club: The Ithaca Archery Club is sponsoring a Big Buck Contest this year. Students who shoot a deer this season, buck or doe, can send a picture to Mr. Klang at klandav@ithaca.k12.wi.us to be entered. Pictures will be placed near Mr. Klang’s door. Prizes will be given for the biggest buck and a random drawing to all who enter. This includes archery season, youth season, and gun season. From PTSO: The Ithaca PTSO's Gingerbread House Fun night will be held Friday, December 2 from 5:30-7 PM in the Commons. Bring a base for your creation like a cookie sheet, boxes like pasta or mac n cheese to build your house around, and candy decorations. Graham crackers and frosting will be provided along with hot chocolate and NEW this year: ornament crafts! Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 Gingerbread Houses. Hope to see you then! From Mrs. Zorea: 5th grade students in Library class learn research skills through citizenship activities. In October, students learned about the three branches of government and took virtual field trips to the White House, United States Capital, and Supreme Court building. In November, students researched who their United States senators are. Then, each student wrote a letter to one of their United States senators about an issue or concern they have. In this photo, students practiced addressing the envelope for their letters.
