In the years to come, pioneers came to call the route the Oregon Trail. Birthdays: Elementary: Emmett Miller MS/HS: none Staff: Mr. Klang

Wisconsin School Garden Day 2023 is May 18th! This day brings recognition to the people and programs giving Wisconsin’s youth access to innovative, hands-on educational opportunities. In honor of this special day, AmeriCorps Farm to School Program (F2S) created this video to help show the steps and resources to creating a school garden. Look for our very own Julie Severance in the clip. Julie is the Ithaca Public Schools AmeriCorps Farm to Table member. She works daily to improve child nutrition through the implementation of educational F2S activities for students and families. These activities encourage healthy eating choices within an educational setting, develop strong communities by creating future community leaders, connect schools with local farmers and food businesses, and increase the capacity of communities all over Wisconsin to support sustainable F2S programs that encourage healthy behaviors and improve the school food environment. https://youtu.be/E61Krcn08TU

A zephyr is a breeze blowing from the west. More loosely, a zephyr can be any gentle breeze. We were relieved when a zephyr blew in just as the heat of the day was peaking, allowing us to remain comfortably on the beach for a little while longer. This Day in History: On this day in 1980, following an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale, Mount St. Helens in Washington state erupted in one of the greatest volcanic explosions ever recorded in North America.
