Earlier today, the Ithaca school district was contacted by a staff member that there may have been a threat against the building. In an abundance of caution, the school canceled school and did not allow students to enter the building as they were being dropped off. If a student was picked up by a bus, the school held them in a safe location until contact with family was made. All efforts to return students safely are continuing. Law enforcement has been advising staff and on-site since the alleged threat was made known.
