The JV baseball game of Ithaca at Baraboo tonight has been cancelled.

Get Real was held at Richland Center High School on Wednesday, April 23. 43 Ithaca students from the Careers and Personal Finance classes attended the event where they practiced making real life financial decisions. Before the event, students chose a career, researched the average salary for that career, and the education required for the job. Students were then randomly assigned a FICA score, marital status and whether or not they had dependents. At Get Real, many volunteers were there to help walk students through decisions about housing, vehicles, insurance, banking, food, utilities, health care, charitable donations, entertainment and leisure activities, and even random chances of fate. Students practiced writing checks and balancing their account. Some students discovered that they needed to get a second job to make ends meet or they realized that they should have made different decisions on housing, vehicles, credit cards, or owning pets. A few students even received "Speeding Tickets" or "Crime Stopper Awards" from law enforcement officials that were at Get Real. It was a great learning experience and we appreciate all of the volunteers who made this event so fun and educational.
