On Wednesday, May 15th, the Ithaca High School Class of 2024 was celebrated at their Baccalaureate. Sponsored by Willow Valley UMC and St. Mary's Catholic Church, this year's program was held in Keyesville. The students planned the program and asked Mr. Herbst to provide the welcome and Mr. Rob Richards to be the featured speaker. Thanks to them both for the meaningful messages, the St. Mary's PCCW for the reception, Father Nathan and Pastor Diana for their spiritual guidance, organist Donna Durst and cantor Juli Thompson. It was a wonderful night of faith, hope, and love for the graduates. Just keep pedaling and don't look down!

WORD OF THE DAY: Sequester: to keep a group or person separate or apart from other people. The jury was sequestered until a verdict was reached. ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On May 20, 1927, a rainy morning, he took off from Roosevelt Field, but his monoplane was so loaded down with fuel that it barely cleared the telephone wires at the end of the runway. He flew northeast up the East Coast and as night fell left Newfoundland and headed across the North Atlantic. The next afternoon, after flying 3,610 miles in 33 1/2 hours, Lindbergh landed at Le Bourget field in Paris, becoming the first pilot to accomplish the solo, nonstop transatlantic crossing. Lindbergh’s achievement made him an international celebrity and won widespread public acceptance of the airplane and commercial aviation. BIRTHDAYS: none

So glad we captured this picture before the rain washed it away! Last week, our younger Bulldogs enjoyed some outside fun celebrating the end of the year. Many Bulldogs left their "paw print" in chalk on the fire lane, and it made for a great visual display of our togetherness at Ithaca Public Schools. Many thanks to all the staff, administration, and older Bulldogs who collaborated making this Fun Day memorable!

On Thursday of this week, Ithaca Elementary held a school "Fun Day", which included games, music, sports, sidewalk art, cake and ice cream, and MORE! The kids (and staff & volunteers) had a most excellent time! Even a little rain couldn't dampen the Bulldog Spirit. Dear Parents/Guardians, Over the next couple of weeks, we would LOVE for your student(s) to ride the bus—even if it’s just ONE time, and it can be just to OR from school. The transportation funding we receive from the state of Wisconsin depends on the number of addresses (stops) and students we have in our records. We are requesting that ALL students who reside at an address ride the bus at least once. You can help us provide improved transportation every day, by having your student(s) ride to OR from school just one time between now and the end of the school year. If you would like to assist the Ithaca District and have your student(s) ride the bus, please call the school office at 608-585-2311 and we can have a quick discussion on dates, times, and route information.
