As a team, the girls tied for 9th with Cochrane/Fountain City wirh 29 points, just one point over Kickapoo/LaFarge.

There is a sign up for Summer League Volleyball at River Valley outside the office. Summer League is played on Monday Nights in June and July. Life is precious! Ithaca/Weston Track and Richland Center/Ithaca Cross Country coach, Brenda Walton was a bit late arriving at the regional track meet Monday night because she had just competed in a half-Ironman Triathlon in Chattanooga, TN. By finishing with a qualifying time, Brenda has reached her goal of returning to the World Ironman Triathlon in Nice, France. Brenda returned to the Ironman circuit after training intensively following a heart attack in the fall of 2022 during the run portion of the World Ironman Triathlon in Utah. She was able to get the rapid response she needed to get back at running, biking, and swimming at the level that brings her joy. Brenda has coached generations of athletes, and she has shared her triathlon journey as an inspiration to many. Keep at it, Brenda!

Stay safe tonight, everyone. we have some softball playoff news for you. The Ithaca Girls' regional playoff game will be at 3pm tomorrow. La Farge has a band concert tomorrow evening, so we are playing early so their kids can play in the game and make it home in time for their concert.

Congratulations to the Ithaca High School Ridge and Valley Conference All-Conference Academic Team! The Ridge and Valley Conference recognized 30 students to be a part of the Academic All-Conference Team. Each school in our conference was able to nominate 5 students. Nominees were evaluated according to their cumulative grade point average at the end of seven semesters combined with A.C.T. scores. Ten students were honored with First Team recognition, Ten with Second Team Recognition, and Ten with Honorable Mention recognition. The recipients from ITHACA HIGH SCHOOL are as follows:

Tuesday May 21, 2024 - All after school activities and practices at Ithaca are cancelled due to inclement weather.
Todays Ithaca Softball home playoff game versus Lafarge has been postponed until tomorrow, due to inclement weather. The time of the game has yet to be determined.
Students in grades 8-11 will have their scheduling session with teachers will be on Thur, May 23. Ithaca Middle and High Schools will run on a one-hour delay schedule. Ithaca FFA members earn first State FFA Degrees since 1967!
In 2023, Talena Sprecher became the first Ithaca FFA member since 1967 to earn her Wisconsin State FFA degree. This year, three more Ithaca members followed her lead and submitted their applications for State FFA Degree. Josie Laue, Violet Dilley, and Logan Anderson will all walk across the stage at the 95th Wisconsin FFA Convention and receive their State Degrees. As they represent Ithaca FFA, they will be representing the oldest FFA chapter in the state.
The requirements for the State Degree are quite extensive and include the following requirements of the member:
● Completed at least 360 hours of Agriculture Education
● Have at least 24 months of FFA membership at the time of application.
● Have received the Greenhand and Chapter FFA Degrees
● Have earned and productively invested $1500 or worked 1000 hours in SAE
● Participated in at least five different FFA activities above the chapter level
● Participated in the planning and completion of the chapter Program of Activities ¨
● Must list at least 6 skills or competencies gained through their SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience)
● Performed at least two different public speeches related to agricultural with each being at least five minutes in length
● Must demonstrate 10 parliamentary procedure activities
● Must have served in at least four leadership positions or events
● Have participated in at least 25 additional, unduplicated hours of community service activities within at least two different community service activities.
The Ithaca FFA chapter is 66 members strong and includes a middle school and high school chapter. The organization is led by Advisor Melissa Sprecher.

On Wednesday, May 15th, the Ithaca High School Class of 2024 was celebrated at their Baccalaureate. Sponsored by Willow Valley UMC and St. Mary's Catholic Church, this year's program was held in Keyesville. The students planned the program and asked Mr. Herbst to provide the welcome and Mr. Rob Richards to be the featured speaker. Thanks to them both for the meaningful messages, the St. Mary's PCCW for the reception, Father Nathan and Pastor Diana for their spiritual guidance, organist Donna Durst and cantor Juli Thompson. It was a wonderful night of faith, hope, and love for the graduates. Just keep pedaling and don't look down!
So glad we captured this picture before the rain washed it away! Last week, our younger Bulldogs enjoyed some outside fun celebrating the end of the year. Many Bulldogs left their "paw print" in chalk on the fire lane, and it made for a great visual display of our togetherness at Ithaca Public Schools. Many thanks to all the staff, administration, and older Bulldogs who collaborated making this Fun Day memorable!
