Between 1901 and 1995, 15 people went over the falls; 10 of them survived. Among those who died were Jesse Sharp, who took the plunge in a kayak in 1990, and Robert Overcracker, who used a jet ski in 1995. No matter the method, going over Niagara Falls is illegal, and survivors face charges and stiff fines on either side of the border. For the second year in a row, Ithaca's Kaylee Peterson has qualified for State in Division 2 Girls Cross Country! Kaylee has had an incredible season, and put together her best race when it counted most by placing 3rd out of 96 runners at Sectionals. She will race with 150 of the best runners in the state this Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids at The Ridges Golf Course at 12:40pm. Good luck Kaylee! Ithaca is seeking teaching and support professional (paraprofessional) substitutes. If you are interested, contact Brooke Hackl at brooke.hackl@ithaca.k12.wi.us or phone 608-585-2512. Substitute training is required by the state of Wisconsin, but we will put you in contact with CESA staff to meet that requirement. The Ithaca District is also seeking a long-term middle school science substitute from October 31st through the end of January. On Monday, the Ithaca Junior and Seniors traveled to UW-Platteville to attend the WI Education Fair. Our students had the opportunity to visit with many different post secondary education representatives. They also took a tour at UW-Platteville and enjoyed lunch on the campus as well.
