The School Social Work Association of America is proud to promote National School Social Work Week, held the first full calendar week of March (Sunday - Saturday). SSWAA collects and shares resources to help you celebrate and promote School Social Work Week. We hope you will make some great plans to celebrate as well as receive much-deserved recognition for the vital role that you provide to students, administrators, teachers, educators, parents, and the community!
The theme for National School Social Work Week 2023 is “We Rise.” School Social Workers rise up - supporting their students, families, and school communities. During March, athletic trainers across America are being recognized for their commitment to helping athletes prevent injuries while staying healthy and active. As health care professionals, they are highly educated and dedicated to their mission. We appreciate our trainers -- Lindsay Tollakson (left) and Brianna Hampton (right) -- for their positive impact on our area athletes and teams and the countless hours they put into caring for our community. Of note, recently, Ithaca approved to expand the amount of time Lindsay and her colleagues are available to our athletes, becoming better able to assist them.

Word of the Day: Proximate is a formal word that is usually used to describe something that comes or happens immediately before or after something in a way that shows a very close and direct relationship. It can also mean "very near" or "happening soon." The proximate cause of the student protests was the firing of a popular professor, but there had been murmurings of unrest all year.
