Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - 2026 -- This observance day commemorates the January 15, 1929, birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. King was a civil rights leader, minister, and winner of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize. King was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and was assassinated April 4, 1968. The federal holiday is celebrated on the third Monday in January.
From the Ithaca Admin Team: Ithaca is sending our deepest thoughts and prayers to our friends at the Royall School District. We offer the sincerest condolences on the passing of a beloved teacher. We encourage everyone to wear the Panther colors of Black and Gold this Friday January 16th, as a show of friendship and support. If you need to talk to someone about this, please reach out to a teacher or other adult within the district staff and we can arrange resources. Many Districts but ONE community!

From Ms. Jones: Snowball 2026 will be Saturday, January 17th from 8-11PM. If you plan on bringing a guest from another school, please pick up a permission slip in the school office.
From Mrs. Burnley: The Ithaca High School Yearbook is selling page sponsorships for the 2025-2026 yearbook for $40 a page. If you are interested in sponsoring a page, please contact Mrs. Burnley.
From PTSO: Enjoy an afternoon with your family and friends at Symons Recreation Complex for FREE!!! January 18 from 1:30-3:55 p.m. the PTSO will be holding their Swim for Free Family Day. All you have to do is come to Symons and let them know at the counter that you are for the Ithaca PTSO Swim Day. We hope to see you there!
From PTSO: Popcorn Friday will be this Friday, Jan 23. Elementary students, your classroom teacher will take your order and money. Middle School and High School students you will be able to purchase yours during breakfast, at the end of your hallways. Cost is $0.50 per bag, limit 2 bags per person. Help support the 4th grade class!
From Mrs. Burnley: You’ve heard of chuck-a-puck, now it’s time for Sling Some Socks! This new and original philanthropic event will be held during halftime of the Boys Varsity Basketball Game against North Crawford on Friday, January 23. Here’s how to participate. Bring NEW underwear or socks to the game. Buy a bag for $1 from Ithaca FBLA and seal the underwear or socks in the bag. During Halftime of the varsity game, sling your bag onto the court. Some participants will even win prizes. The profits from the sale of the bags will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association and clothing will be donated to Passages.
