Word of the Day: Rancid: an edible item that has a strong, unpleasant smell or taste because it is no longer fresh - He left his lunchbox in his car for several days and the rancid smell prompted him to clean it.
On This Day in History: On October 24, 2003, the supersonic Concorde jet made its last commercial passenger flight, traveling at twice the speed of sound from New York City’s JFK International Airport to London’s Heathrow Airport. The sleek, delta-winged planes could make the trip from New York to London in around three and a half hours, traveling at 1,350 miles per hour. They had begun commercial service in 1976 but rising costs and fewer ticket sales forced the end of the luxury service.
