Wisconsin Public School Observance Day: September 11th Observance - On the morning of September 11, 2001 four flights were hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists at various airports in the United States; subsequently the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington DC were struck by three of the hijacked planes. The passengers and crew of the fourth plane, Flight 93, fought the terrorists resulting in the plane crashing in a field in Pennsylvania, killing all onboard, but ultimately sparing many other lives by diverting it from hitting the Capitol building in Washington DC. As a result of these terror attacks 2997 souls lost their lives.
Attention Parents - if your student missed Picture Day yesterday, please mark your calendar for Retake Day October 8th.
Reminder to students who drive or ride with someone who does: Please bring everything you need for the day into the building when you arrive. Our school safety policy does not allow students to return to their cars once they are in the building.
From the Kitchen: Attention High School students who have Youth Apprenticeship or Modified Schedules. If you arrive at school after first hour and would like school lunch, please stop in the office to mark your choice on the daily lunch count sheet to ensure that enough food is prepared. Thank you!
From Ms. Ernzen: There will be an informational Book Club Meeting in Ms. Ernzen’s room during CAPstone on Thursday, Sept 11th. This will provide membership information for new and returning members.
From Mrs. Deitelhoff and Mrs. Stellner: There will be a senior class meeting on Friday, September 12th during CAPstone in Mrs. Deitelhoff’s room.
From Mrs. Thompson: There will be a freshman class meeting on Fri, Sept 12th during CAPstone in the LMC.
From Mr. Andresen: Attention potential NHS members - your completed applications are due by the end of the day on Friday, September 12th. Failure to submit completed paperwork by the deadline is cause for denial of admission to NHS. Direct any questions or completed applications to Mr. Andresen in Room 311.
From Youth Football: Youth Football will start September 15th and run from 6-7pm at the football field. It will be similar to last year with high school players assisting with drills and activities. Any 3rd - 5th graders interested in participating please have parents contact Cole Miller at 608-475-6379 or show up to the first practice. Youth Football Schedule - September: 15th,16th, 29th, and 30th, October: 6th and 7th. Any changes to schedule will be posted here and the Ithaca Football Facebook page.
From Mrs. Deitelhoff: There will be the first FCCLA meeting of the year in Mrs. Deitelhoff’s room during CAPstone on Friday September 19th. All middle school or high school students who are interested in joining are welcome!
From PTSO: Mark your calendar the first Popcorn Friday of the year will be next Friday, September 19th. Popcorn is 50 cents per bag with a limit of 2 bags per student. Funds will go to the 2nd grade class.
From Mrs. Deitelhoff and Mrs Stellner: Homecoming guest reminder: If you’re planning to bring a guest from another school to the Homecoming dance, guest forms are now available in the office. All completed forms are due by Thursday, October 2nd.
Word of the Day: Emanate: to give off - Sounds of laughter emanated from the house during the slumber party.
Notice: We will continue to announce birthdays at the beginning of the school day; however, they will no longer be listed on the announcements that are sent to the general public.
Parents/guardians are informed of field trips via permission slips. Unlike an athletic event or music concert, field trips are not open invitations for the general public to attend. Therefore, as a safety precaution, field trips will no longer be listed on the calendar on the District's website.
