Superintendent/Special Education Director
I grew in a small rural town 50 miles south of Ashland, WI called Butternut. I graduated from Butternut High School in 1995 and then went on to attend Northland College on an athletic scholarship, where I received bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Business Economics.
After Northland College, I pursued a master’s degree in School Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. Upon completing my coursework, I found employment in the Milwaukee Public School system as a school psychologist for middle and high school. During this time I was also coaching junior college basketball at Waukesha County Technical College.
After working in Milwaukee for four years, I decided to accept a position in the Janesville school district as a school psychologist at Craig High School. After working at Craig for one year, I got married to my wonderful wife. It was at that time I wanted to expand my horizons and enrolled at Cardinal Stritch University in their Master’s of Educational Leadership program. I completed my program in the fall of 2009.
This year I am starting my sixth year at Ithaca and the second year in my role as the District Superintendent. I continue to marvel at the amount of community support and the wonderful people that continue to step up for our small school district. We have many new faces in the building this year, which is a testament to the type of atmosphere we promote here at Ithaca.
We will be putting forth a very strong technology initiative moving toward having devices in all of the students hands in grades 6th-12th. With that, we are going to continue to be addressing curriculum updates and school climate.
2015-16 is going to be a very busy and exciting school year. Thank you all for your support.
